Thailand: Bangkok – Wat Arun Temple
Here is another stupendously beautiful temple – Wat Arun. Located on the west side of the river that cuts through Bangkok, the morning light reflects off the temple’s white porcelain shining like a second sun. The temple is a mishmash of styles and cultures reflecting Thailand’s history – in the center is a Khmer-style tower, surrounded by 4 Burmese-style pagodas; the decorations on the bottom of pagodas show Chinese figures and soldiers, while the middle layer shows Hindu goddesses and demons. And then overall decorating elements and final touches are all traditional Thai.
