Thailand: Chiang Mai – Wat Chedi Luang
Wat Chedi Luang is the other grand temple in Chiangs Mai, with the centerpiece being a ruined Lanna-style chedi (pagoda) built in 1441. It’s a massive stone structures adorned with dragons and other monuments. This was the tallest structure in the Chiang Mai kingdom until an earthquake blew off the top in the 17th century. The central chedi also houses the sacred Emerald Buddha. There are also tons of smaller temples with various Buddhas inside. Also the city pillar is houses here is a separate building, off limits to women.
