Thailand: Songkhla Old Town
Songkhla is one of the oldest towns in southern Thailand and has a very well preserved historic Old Town. It was a thriving trading port and a such has a mix of Thai, Chinese, and Malay cultures, architecture, traditions, and cuisine. The narrow streets of the old town are lined up with mix of Sino-Portuguese colonial-era buildings, traditional Thai wooden houses, and Chinese shop houses, with half a dozen ornate temples and a couple mosques sprinkled in.
