Tibet: Lhasa Old Town
Lhasa is the capital of Tibet and at the elevation of of 3490m/11450ft, it’s one of the highest cities in the world. The city has a rather compact old town core centered around the Jokhang Temple (coming in the following post) and concentric streets around it. The streets of Lhasa are lined up with traditional Tibetan building with flat rooftops (used to collect scarce rain water), sunk windows, colorful window frames, and Tibetan ornaments.
