Togo: Lake Togo
Lake Togo is a one of the largest lakes in West Africa, sitting just behind a 1km wide sandbar strip separating it from the ocean – several rivers feed the lakes as does the occasional spill from the seawater. The lake boasts many sparkling white sand beaches and several resorts attract both locals from Lome and tourists. But to be honest, I’d rather go to the rreal ocean beach than this rather brackish looking lake water. Interestingly, there are no boats on the lake since it’s very shallow, only pirogues, pushes by a human with a pole.
