Tonga/Vava‘u: Swallows Cave
Swallows Cave is one of the main attractions in Vavau. It’s a boat ride out to one of the uninhabited island where a large opening in the cliffs invites you into the cave – if your boat driver is skillful enough to navigate the boat through the opening and the rough waves. The cave is named after the large number of swallows that nest within its walls and on the ceiling. Tue walls have stalactites and cave formations, while the water is crystal clear, transparent and blue. A truly magical place.
