Torres Strait Island: Horn Island – King’s Point
Torres Strait Islands is most definitely not a tourist destination – there are no hotels, no croc-free beaches, and the aboriginal local government is opposed to any tourism. But the desolate stark beauty of some of the islands is stunning – like that on the Horn Island. King’s Point and Horned Hill are two adjoining high points on the western side of the island, and the panorama offered at both is simply breathtaking – green islands, blue seas, white-capped waves crashing against the reefs, and exotic deserty vegetation. And no a single person in sight for miles!
