Tuamotu/Fakarava: Lagon Bleu (Lagon Bleu)

Fakarava Atoll has its own Blue Lagon similar to the one of Rangiroa. It’s relatively smaller and the colors are not as diverse as the former, but the blue is so concentrated that it almost looks fake. Usually, the color is the result of the two factors – sandy bottom and depth. Here, most of the lagoon’s bottom is fine white sand and it gradually gets to about 10-15 feet / 3-5 meters in the middle. Snorkeling at the Blue Lagoon in Fakarava was like swimming in blue paint!
