Tuamotu/Fakarava: Sunset in Rotoava
A portion of the Rotoava lagoon-side shore is cast in cement for the marina and it came out to be a great spot to watch the sun set over the Fakarava. The lagoon waters were absolutely still and the setting sun turned the reflection into fifty shades of yellow (didn’t explode red as I was expecting). And then almost as the sun set, an eagle ray (a species bigger then stingray and smaller then manta ray) swam by right below me.
