Tuamotu/Rangiroa: Blue Lorikeet

Blue Lorikeet is a very rare species of a small and colorful parrot that is endemic to the Tuamotu Archipelago and confined to just eight atoll islands. Dark blue in color with a white chest, these parrots fees exclusively on the nectar of the flowers of the coconut palm. There were several of these loud guys on the coconut tree around the desolate Blue Lagoon in the uninhabited part of the Rangiroa Lagoon.
