Tuamotu/Rangiroa: Coral Towers at Ile Aux Recif

The most spectacular and surreal part of Ile Aux Recif is the outer reef where the coral beds got uplifted and now stand like eroded limestone towers, pounded by salty waves and air into otherworldly formations. You can swim and walk around then or even climb on top of the spikes, it is an absolutely stunning natural panorama in all directions.
