Tuamotu/Rangiroa: Swimming with Lemon Sharks
Lemon sharks are much bigger then their black-tip brethren – these sharks grow up to 3.5m/10ft long weighing 200lb. So how do you swim with them? After some fish scraps are thrown in the water and its boiling with sharks of all shapes and sizes – you don you mask and snorkel and just jump into the shark-infested cauldron just below you. Lemon sharks float like giant submarines all around you, but despite the scary look, they are quite friendly and non-threatening.
