Tunisia: Tunis – Kasbah Square
On the western side of Tunis Medina lies the famous Kasbah Square. It is surrounded by many administrative buildings, including the City Hall, the Ministry of Finance, and the Prime Minister’s office housed in the historic Dar el Bey palace. The square played an important role in the Tunisian Revolution in 2011. At the center of Kasbah Square stands the National Monument, a 22m-tall structure that features seven marble-clad towers converging towards the top, symbolizing unity.
