To get the best view of the Tunis Medina, you need to get to the rooftops – there are terraces with panoramic views of the medina and all the mosques. While the Medina’s alleys are narrow and bustling, its rooftops offer a 360-degree view of minarets, domes, courtyards, and the surrounding cityscape. Zitouna Mosque’s minaret dominates the skyline, while smaller mosques and domes pop all around it. Many rooftops (if not all) are very ornate with colorful ceramics and tile work.
