Turkey: Cappadocia – Pigeon Valley & Balloons

Hiking in the Pigeon Valley (named so for the many little pigeon houses carved into the rock pinnacles) early in the morning is an opportunity to observe the daily balloon flight from the ground which is as spectacular as being inside one. Hundreds of balloons drift past you and above you, many displaying Turkish flags and colors. And being in a pumpkin field was even more atmospheric.
