Turkey: Istanbul – Egyptian aka Spice Bazaar

The Spice Bazaar in Istanbul is a sensory overload of smells, colors, and sounds of haggling shoppers. Stall after stall is full of spices, dried fruits, Turkish delight candies, and various teas. It is also known as Egyptian Bazaar, since when it was built in 16th century the money came mostly from taxes levied on Egyptian merchants.
