Turkey: Istanbul – Topkapi Palace
Topkapı Palace was the residence of the Ottowan sultans for nearly 400 years. It was built in between 1466 and 1478 by Mehmet II on top of a hill with a panoramic views of the Bosphorus Strait. During the Ottowan reign, almost every sultan added and expanded the palace to his liking, so today it is a mishmash of building and structure, mostly of Islamic architecture.
