Turkey: Malabadi Bridge

Malabadi Bridge was built over the Batman River (yes, it’s the real name of the river) in eastern Turkey between 1146-1154. The bridge survived in its integrity from the 12th century and is one of the oldest continuously used and never collapsed bridges in the world. It’s spectacular and stunning, arching over the river and made of yellow stone. The bridge is actually the longest spanned stone arch bridge in the world with total length of 282m and width of 7.15 m. The Malabadi Bridge is truly one of the engineering and architectural masterpieces of the medieval ages, representing the Artuqid Period and style.
