Turkey: Saklikent Gorge
Saklikent Gorge is a narrow canyon cutting thought the Akdaglar Mountains north of Fethiye. A walkway on wooden planks leads you along and above the fast-running river, with cliffs running steeply above your head. The canyon is 300 m (980 ft) deep and 18 km (11 mi) long, it’s one of the deepest in the world. You can explore the very end of it, but it’s the most spectacular portion. The entire canyon is a national park.
