Turkey: Tlos
Tlos is another ruined Lycian town and a spectacular archaeological ruins site. The city is located on top of a mountain plateau with panoramic views and hence a strategic position. There is a massive acropolis beneath the fortress on top of the mountain (there are Lycian tombs here next to an Ottoman-era fortress ruins). On the east side of the acropolis, there is the actual city and the remains of the city walls, with scattered ruins of houses and public buildings inside, including an agora, a necropolis, and an ancient theater. The views all around the site are stunning and once again – zero other tourists, so you get a complete tomb raider experience.
