Turkmenistan: Ashgabat – City at Night
Ashgabat is spectacularly lit at night – the city, transforms into a surreal spectacle of illuminated white marble buildings, grandiose monuments, and deserted streets – it’s like Vegas without crowds. Some building are even illuminated by changing lights – like the massive Yyldyz Hotel (often compared to the Burj Al Arab due to its sail-like silhouette) or the Wedding Palace (star-shaped building illuminated with colorful LED lights, highlighting its unique octagonal star design topped with a giant golden globe). Or just simply roam the streets in search of colorful gems (you no longer need to be accompanied by a guide and can just explore the city in your own day or night).
