Turkmenistan: Nohur – Medicinal Plants Market

Nohur is also well-known in Turkmenistan for its medicinal plants and traditional healers selling them. There is a small marketplace next to a sacred hollowed-out old tree, where dried mountain plants are sold – St John’s wart, licorice root, chamomile, sage, yarrow, juniper, rosehip, ephedra, honey and much more. There are also amulets and various trinkets as well.
