Uganda: Murchison Falls NP – Delta Cruising
Nile is the longest river in the world, originating in Lake Victoria in Uganda and flowing north to Egypt. The first part is known as Victoria Nile until it enters Lake Albert in a broad delta. At Murchison Falls National Park you can cruise the delta on an early morning tour spotting hundreds of species of birds (various colorful kingfishers, eagles, crested cranes, etc), hippos and crocs, beautiful papyrus plants lining the shores, and spectacular panoramic views of Lake Albert. Hippos can be seen in hundreds and are the subject of the next post.
