Ukraine: Kiev – Saint Sophia Cathedral
Saint Sophia’s Cathedral is one of the grandest religious landmarks in the city. Built in 1037, it is meant to replicated or at least represent the Hagia Sofia Cathedral in Istambul. It was expanded over years and looks quite different now, having 13 cupolas. The green and gold shines prominently over the city, especially when viewed from the large square in front of the cathedral with the statue of Bogdan Khmelnitsky on it
