Uruguay: Punta del Este
Punta del Este feels like a resort town somewhere in France or Spain, or worst case scenario – Florida. The town is known as Monaco of the South, St Tropez of Latin America, Pearl of the Atlantic, the Hamptons of Spith America and Miami Beach of South America and it very much looks and feels this way. The core of the town is on a narrow peninsula jutting out to see (with Isla de Los Lobos visible offshore). The town boasts amazing blue church – Iglesia de la Candelaria, and a lighthouse – Faro de Punta del Este. But try best part is the spectacular coastline! Further inland and along the main coast there are plenty of resorts and hotels.
