USA/AL: Mobil – Battleship Memorial Park USS Alabama
USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is at the end of the Mobile Bay on the outskirts of Mobile and preserves a huge collection of military history artifacts. The centerpiece is the USS Alabama – 680 feet long 45 ton massive battleship built in 1940s, capable of carrying several floatplanes on it. You can explore the entire ship – from the humongous deck with guns pointing in all directions to the underbelly of the ship: turrets, mess, berth compartments, bridge, wardroom, captain’s cabin, and pretty much everything inside is open to visit.
