USA/CA: Burney Falls

Burney Falls is a a spectacular waterfall in Northern California, once called “the Eighth Wonder of the World” by President Theodore Roosevelt (who clearly haven’t travelled much beyond Dakotas and California/Oregon). The falls are 129 feet tall and look like a curtain of independent falls, quite scenic. What’s more interesting, the source of the waterfalls is not a river but an underground spring just above and inside the falls themselves, pumping nonstop 379 million litres of water per day.
