USA/CA: Mojave National Preserve – Sunset

Mojave National Preserve is almost a national park and the expanse of the Joshua trees here is enormous. Cima Road cuts through the the heart of the Mojave National Preserve and has some of the densest stands of the Joshua trees in America. The bizarre trees line up the two-lane highway with their weird branches and looks totally otherworldly at sunset with silhouettes set against the still bluish dusk sky. Joshua tree is actually a yucca (Yucca brevifolia), one of the few yuccas that grow to a massive tree size.
