USA/NE: Lincoln – Historic Haymarket District
The historic Haymarket District is the main attraction in Lincoln in Nebraska. The name comes from the 1860s, when this what a “Wall Street” for hay trading as well as various agricultural products with many warehouses all around. The warehouses have been restored and converted to restaurants and boutique shops and residential buildings and the area turned into a hip place. Perhaps, it ain’t as hip as it can be during a pandemic, but then again – this is Nebraska – and not many people follow the mask advise. Many historic buildings dot the area – railroad station, brewery, old banks and bodegas. And a nice way to end the evening with a good Bloody Mary in hand.
