USA/NV: Goldfield
Hello, Nevada! Wanna step back in time about 100 years, then come to the town of Goldfield in Nevada. It was a boomtown around 1920s, when the gold rush produced around 86 million dollars worth of gold. The population then reached a peak of over 20,000. Today, it’s just 260 and rapidly falling. The town is bizarre and dilapidated with everything seemingly old, rusty, broken, antique, or weird. Old cars, abandoned police vehicle from 1960, broken mannequins, and so on. It’s like Wild Wild West town mixed with Alice in Wonderland and a pinch of opiate crisis for good measure. People weird as well – but probably that’s “normal” for Nevada.
