USA/OR: Cape Perpetua – Thor’s Well
Thor’s Well is truly a natural wonder. It is a hole in the rock shelf through which the sea water is pushed up by the ocean swell and then drained back down. It looks like a giant nature’s drainage mechanism. You can walk all the way out on the ledge and look into the abyss. Just don’t get too close as it will explode in your face the next moment. An absolute must see! Geologically, it is likely a skylight in the underwater sea cave thought which the water is pushed up as if through a blowhole.
