USA/TX: Jefferson
Jefferson is a historic town in the eastern Texas, founded in 1841, and almost every building here is marked as historic heritage. Lots of well-preserved 19th century architecture here in the center town and long two or three main streets. The city was a major port in Texas, as barges ploughed the Big Texas Bayou rivers and swamps and delivered goods down and up the coast. During the Civil War, Jefferson was a major supply center for the confederate armies.
