USA/VA: Shenandoah National Park – Skyline Ridge Parkway
At the end of Blue Ridge Parkway lies the Shenandoah National Park and the Skyline Ridge Parkway that follows the mountain ridges through the park. The elongated park centers on this part of the Appalachian mountains in Virginia, bounded by the Shenandoah Valley to the west and flatland and some rolling hills of central Virginia to the east. It’s a great drive with some spectacular panoramic views, except when it’s raining cats and dogs and clouds turn the visibility into near-zero.
