USA/WA: Mount Rainier NP – First Wildflowers
Mount Rainier is famous not only for the glacial and alpine scenery, but also for the some of the most spectacular wildflower displays on the planet. The season starts very late on July-August, as heavy snow covers most of the mountain, but then the wildflowers burst on the alpine meadows. Glacier or avalanche lilies are the most spectacular, piercing their heads through snow. It’s absolutely stunning, and perhaps incomparable to any other botanical display on this planet.
