USA/Alaska: Black Bears near Palmer

While Alaska is famous for its brown bears or grizzlies, the American Black Bear can be found here as well. The black bears are almost half the size of the brown relatives, much less intimidating, and with a much more diverse diet. A family of a mother with two cubs was crossing the road and then climbed the nearby trees, resulting in a nearly 2-hour stopover to observe them.
