USA/Alaska: Kachemak Bay State Park

Kachemak Bay State Park protects the beautiful wilderness and glaciers of the Kachemak Peninsula. To get here you have to take the water taxi from Homer to cross the Kachemak Bay, and then later use a hand-pulled cable car to cross another river. Once finally on the peninsula, there are spectacular hiking trails leading up very close to the glacial lakes and glacier’s snout.
