USA/AZ: Saguaro National Park
Saguaro National Park is one of the most incredible places in the USA and in the world, protecting immense saguaro forests. Saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) is the largest cactus in the world and can grow to 70ft (20+ meters) high. They have a very long life span and grow very slowly, only inches per year. Some specimen are over 150 years old, and form incredible, outwardly looking forests. They bloom in May with large night-opening flowers, and the edible fruit ripen in June.
