USA/CA: Amboy Crater
Amboy Crater is an extinct cinder cone volcano in the middle of the desolate Mojave Desert, it’s over 6000 years old since the last eruption, and the volcano itself is over 79,000 years old. You can hike up to the crater rim, climbing over 600 ft up for panoramic views of the surrounding desert as well as an awesome view of the crater beneath your feet. The crater is visible from afar, especially when you drive on the iconic Route 66.
