USA/CA: Brystol Dry Lake
Brystol Dry Lake is one of the lesser known attractions in the middle of nowhere near Amboy in the heart of the Mojave Desert. The chemical composition of the white salts in the lake indicate that it’s not entirely based on evaporation, but rather has an outlet underneath to magma chamber. The salt is being actively mined here. It’s a spectacular panoramic site of gleaming white in all directions.
