USA/CA: Mojave NP – Kelso Dunes

Kelso Dunes cover 45 square miles (120 square km) in the middle of the vast Mojave Desert National Preserve. These are some of the largest dunes in the USA, the highest dune goes up to 650 feet (200 m). You can hike up to the top of the tallest dune for some awesome views, but it’s a strenuous endeavor, for every step you make – you slide back down 3/4 of it.
