USA/California: Los Angeles – Venice Beach
I had a short 1/2 layover in LA before hitting the next destination, which resulted in re-visiting the city’s oceanfront locations. Venice Beach is a neighborhood in Los Angeles that is famous for being a surfer’s paradise. Its straight westward orientation results in near-perfect barrel waves rolling ashore. Even when the surf is not high, there are hundreds of surfers (mostly men) in the water on both sides of the Venice Beach Pier, trying to ride the waves. In fact, many of my LA friends go surfing before work almost every day.
