USA/NV: Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park
In the late 1800s, northern Nevada experienced a silver mining rush and its center was in the town of Ward. Nowadays, nothing remains of the town except the charcoal ovens that were built for charcoal production to be used in silver ore smelters. The ovens look almost like alien structures and operated between 1876 and 1881. Interestingly, it was built by Italian brick masters who specifically traveled to Nevada for this!
