Uzbekistan: Nurata
A small dusty town of Nurata was actually founded in the 4th century by Alexander the Great and the remains of a fortress on the higher ground above the city are a testament to that. The town is home to a healing spring bursting from the ground in the middle of the town. The mineral water comes out at a constant 19.5C, and the water composition includes gold, silver, bromide, and iodine. In addition, the spring is the home for marinka fish that have no scales. The spring is sacred.
