Venezuela: Aguas Termales La Musuy

A must see hike from Mucuchies is up the mountain ridge to the spectacular hot springs of Aguas Termales La Musuy, situated on a mountainside terrace in the high Andes. Reaching the thermal pools requires an uphill hike along a stone and dirt trail for about an hour, while enjoying absolutely stunning mountain vistas and panorama (plus the sunrise!). There are two tiered pools – upper and lower – with water temps at 35°C–42°C (95°F–108°F). The pools sit at an altitude of approximately 3,300 to 3,500 m (10,800 to 11,500 ft) above sea level – thin and cold air all around – so quite enjoyable to sit in the pool and eat your breakfast and sip freshly brewed coffee!
