Venezuela: Caracas – Metro Cable Ride on Petare Line
You can’t explore Caracas without riding its. Step Cable – an aerial gondola system designed to overcome the city’s challenging mountainous geography and connects hillside barrios directly with the valley floor. The Petare line takes you down from the mountain top Estacion Mariche terminal and down to the Estacion Palo Verde. The ride is stunning and panoramic to the max – looking straight ahead, the entire Caracas valley stretches out before you with Mount Avila dominating the skyline and framing the high-rise cityscape below. The gondola glides along a nearly 4.8 km route suspended between giant steel support towers. Below your feet is Petare’s eastern slopes with tin roofs, winding stairways, brick homes, and the ribbon of the Carretera Petare–Santa Lucía that was a hectic bike drive up just before.
