Venezuela: Caracas – Wild Macaws
The phenomenon of flocks of totally mild macaws flying out from the Avila mountain slowed to the balconies of top floor of many of Caracas’s hi-rise apartment buildings is very famous and a must-do experience. While sipping morning coffee at a rooftop terrace of your aparthotel, you see dozen of them – most commonly Blue-and-Gold Macaws (Ara ararauna) coming to feed on bananas and sunflower seeds. The birds are quite massive and you can see them really up close and personal, borderline hand-feeding completely wild macaws! Locals cal them guacamayas.
