Venezuela: Mt Roraima – Bizarre Rock Formations

Almost the entire top of Mount Roraima is covered by black rocks of sandstone. In the western part, the rocks have eroded into bizarre otherworldly formations with towers, spires, hoodoos, arches, windows, and all of the above combined. The most dense portion of these is absolutely inaccessible and is know as the Maze, as the crevasses here reach hundreds of feet deep and no trails exist. Hiking across this terrain is a true adventure, once again resembling another planet.
