Wales: Conwy Castle

Conwy castle is perhaps the grandest in Wales both in size and architecture. The castle was built in 1283-89 by over 2000 workers. Over the centuries it withstood multiple attacks and sieges with its 15 feet thick walls and 8 defensive towers. The castle is one of the finest examples of medieval architecture in the world and thus a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
