Yemen: Adenium Arabicum
I have seen these plants in pots before used as mini-bonsai trees. Turns out, this plant grows naturally only here in southern Yemen and neighboring Oman along the coastal cliffs, ie it’s endemic. The plant looks as if it belongs in Alice in Wonderland – weird fat trunk with crooked fat branches and beautiful pink flowers on their ends and tops. I can only imagine how insane the flora looks on Socotra, just a couple hundred miles off the coast here and yet so unreachable at the moment. One day!
