Yemen: Road to Hauf
Resetting the post count for Middle East… Once you cross the border from Oman and into Yemen, the road rapidly deteriorates, while the overall scenery becomes more spectacular and wilder. The entire area of this southeast part of Yemen has been tentatively approved for UNESCO World Heritage Site designation back in 2002, but the civil war has prevented this from becoming final. Camel roam pretty much everywhere, mountains stand tall in the background, and the road slowly winds down to the town of Hauf, standing in the dusty distance on the shoreline with several towering mosques.
